Jan 01, · I bought this CD Beethoven: Piano Sonatas Nos. 8, 14 And 23 primarily for the second movement of Beethoven's Sonata Pathetique, which I consider to be one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written -- IF it is performed with an understanding of, and connection to, the emotions that I believe Beethoven was trying to convey. A heartfelt performance of this piece will reduce me to tears /5(3).
